Universal Starrs provides dance & vocal instruction, as well as choreography for school dance teams and musicals, focusing on technique and competitive dance. We currently offer duet/trio and solo opportunities in competitive and non-competitive dance. Our company also provides vocal training for those pursuing competitive performance, or for those who want to learn the art of singing on a non-competitive level.
Competitive duets/trios and solos are by audition only.
Dance technique training is a priority for each student's dance experience. Therefore, it is mandatory that each student previously complete at least 4 years of ballet technique training, prior to auditioning for our competition duets/trios and/or solos.
Each dance season typically consists of one or two Spring competitions in the Knoxville area. Other community performances such as the Foothills Fall Festival, and local area churches (worship services, events/festivals), complete the Fall and Winter seasons.
Vocal instruction is offered for ages 8 & up. Each lesson is designed to the needs of the student, based on level and goal. All lessons provide the student a foundation of vocal technique, as well as the opportunity to study and learn several new pieces of music.
Universal Starrs' motto is Dancin'-4-CHRIST. Our goal is to provide our students with superior instruction, while teaching Christian principles which will follow them much further than their adolescent years.
